I saw Hancock this past weekend….what a disappointment. First, let me defend myself. I love a good action, destruction, shoot’em up movie just as much as the next guy. But this time, I just couldn’t stand the action movie with a weak plot.

The story in Hancock just wasn’t there, it was very, very lame. Actually, it was more than lame, it really made me dislike the movie. I remember sitting there in the theater thinking to myself, “Please, movie story, don’t go where we think it’s going….oh no, they went there.” Seriously, I would rather have them just have 2 hours of Will Smith breaking things, beating up guys and destroying L.A. but no, they had to throw in one of the worst movie stories ever.

Word to the wise, save your $8 and just rent the movie if you are a big fan of superhero/destruction movies. Otherwise, just save your money, gas prices are still going up. Seriously, Hancock is a big miss and even though I like Will Smith, he’s a good guy, the movie is a bust. It’ll probably lead in the box office because the only competition really is a kid’s robot movie (WALL-E — you might as well spend you $8 and see WALL-E, you’ll be more satisfied with it than you would by watching Hancock), but overall it’s just not a good movie, not even a mediocre movie.

Anyway, that’s that. Luckily I went to a mattinee and so I only spend $5. $5 that I’ll never get back.
